P.E.R.F.E.C.T.E.D

(A beautiful song written on the fly by my wonderful husband upon inspiration of this post:)

How is your day today? Did you have a great day… a perfect day?

Is there such a thing as a perfect day? What does it look like? Would you show me?

Is it even possible to have a truly great day, let alone a perfect day?

Well, i don’t think a perfect day is possible for any human…

but i think any day can be PERFECTED…

PERFECTION comes when PERSPECTIVES change!

When our heart resonates with the treasures in God’s WORD…

Our empty will turn into plenty!

Today home alone with a sick, feverish baby…

My heart begins to soar only as my praises learns to roar…

Were I to conjure up a perfect day in having the freedom to do ANYTHING I want WHENEVER i want…

then i’d be despairing the moment I am restricted and these feet are bound…

Today I cooked and cleaned so much…

That i forgot to comb my hair…

And i saw pasta sauce swirling with my hair…

When i tried to save the time by slurping those spaghetti real fast …

Today I washed and cleaned…

Those once branded tops now smeared with fruits

From tiny fingers that clasp so tight…

And cookie’s crumbs

That flew everywhere from mouths that chomped…

Were I to equate a perfect day to having my own ME TIME…

Then i’d face the biggest failure the moment the next cry comes…

As the heavily breathing snuffly baby cries in frustration

Since nether food nor sleep has come easily upon her…

Today I ran by the river and revel in the reflection of the sparkling water…

And I realise that this life is not my own…

Life so busy, so messy…

Yet i behold PERFECTION,

the moment He comes into my heart…

Though the stars aren’t all aligned and life isn’t all neat and proper…

Peace has come into chaos…

His sovereignty rules over my morality…

Can a day be perfected?

When refreshing replaces rawness…

And strength weariness…

And light darkness…

Perfection comes…

The moment His water trickles into this dessert of heart…

Let me ask you…

Ponder with me…

Can freedom and jubilee be found in the midst of the daily?

And abundance in the messiness of motherhood?

I would think so…

Today i learn of a day PERFECTED…

Learning to be still…

Though baby is sick and refuses to eat…

Though I sit alone and there was no others…

Though this body cries for sleep and a bit of rest …

Today I learn of a day ABUNDANT…

As I cooked and cleaned a storm…

To feed those little mouths…

And please those precious hearts…

Choc chip cookies and a glass of cold milk…

Today I learn of a day JUBILANT…

As i hugged my 4 year old,

Kissed my 7 year old,

Nursed my 10 month old,

It is in this  quietness

That life is regained …

And God be the perfect administrator of my day

I sit in awe

And realise…

That it is in Him that I live and move and have my being.

Profound…

My days are already numbered in His sovereign love…

My destiny already shaped in His flawless plan…

In the dispensation of the fullness of His time!

Nothing that happens to us will ever be outside His will…

He orchestrates, he designs, he plans…

It is when I lose myself in Him and relinquish the right to be happy

That I find myself abundantly joyful…

Mightily PERFECTED!

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.

They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
