How to Be Strong…Every Day

Hi lovely people! I am writing this little post as I’m reading through my Bible tonight, having my heart inspired…really inspired…

We had just come home from a prayer meeting where the Spirit of God was moving powerfully, touching and uniting our church family. His presence was so refreshing that I want the MORE that He has in store for us…truly there is MORE in this life and He invites us to live in the overflow.

I have been thinking about what it means to live, and work, and parent, from the overflow. My heart is full and my spirit abundant. I feel that my feet are light and my heart is in the place where it should be…

We are in a place of favour…Gone are the struggles of the past, He has dissolved our impossible mountains and will continue to do so for us. Far removed are the dead areas of our lives and enlarging in capacity are our visions, daily. He is connecting us to people and places that expand our horizons. He is restoring our zeal for Him and transforming our impossibilities to our realities. The glass ceiling that once hindered us have become for us our stepping stone….

Tonight as I recounted the goodness of the Lord, and took inventory of His blueprint for my life, I realise that in His goodness, I am beginning to bloom where I am meant to be…I am at harmony with my environment, my family is thriving and I have hope founded in Him for the future…

I realise that I am stronger today than where I was in my yesterdays. And when I think of the secret of this strength, the words of 1 Timothy 4: 12-16 comes to mind:

“12 Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead, be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your pure life. 13 Until I come, continue to read the Scriptures to the people, strengthen them, and teach them. 14 Use the gift you have, which was given to you through prophecy when the group of elders laid their hands on[a] you. 15 Continue to do those things; give your life to doing them so your progress may be seen by everyone. 16 Be careful in your life and in your teaching. If you continue to live and teach rightly, you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.”

So how do we be strong, every day? Verse 6 provides a clue – “You will be made strong by the words of the faith and the good teaching which you have been following.”

Have you been exposing yourself to the Scripture for strength? Have you given yourself to be inspired by great reviving books and pious readings? Have you read the Word with your children and given yourself to a community of like-minded friends? Have you been applying the teaching you have been hearing? This is the pivotal key to becoming strong, really strong, every day. And while we may not be all that we want to be, He is calling us to devote ourselves to the daily and to be brilliant at the basics. And yes, sometimes it is mastering the basics that can be really hard.
