It’s what I sang over the sink…
Sang over my baby as I rock her to sleep…
Sang over my stove as I cook…
The song I sing as I quietly sit, books opened and heart weeping…
When powerlessness comes in, that’s when I need to sing the most…
Sing when this heart knows not what to pray…
Sing as news of mighty rain continuously pours in…
Sing as thunders holler and lightings strike…
Sing over a home our feet just treaded, walls recently touched, times spent and togetherness enjoyed…
“You are my hiding place…you will protect us and surround us with songs of deliverance”…
Words that I mouth, whispers that turn into prayers…
My intercession spill over as I bent over dirty sink, stoop down low collecting toys…
When I feel most powerless to help, my song turn my breaths into prayers…
We need to sing when we know not what to say…
Keep on singing before rescue comes…
Keep your voices higher above these waters…
Above the sunken feelings when hopelessness sets in…
Keep singing when these lights stops…dams break…water fills roads and traffic halts, and city crumbles to a stop…
Sing in darkness, sing in silence…Sing over your life, your home and your work…
Because it’s when there seems to be nothing happening and you are all powerless that you realise who is in control
“Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.” (Psalm 32:6)
Sing unto Him who holds your today and guides your tomorrow In darkness, His voice will be the loudest, the sharpest, the clearest… In nothingness, abandon your plans and rest in His promises…
Let your prayers be wet as His rain pours in… It’s times like these that we hear His heartbeat, pray for a miracle, intercede for a revival
It’s this song that I sing and it’s what happens when we sing that will cause us to be “be strong and courageous, and do the work…don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you…” (Click here to sing along with me, sing till His name alone removes your mountain!) (Pictures: Courtesy of the ABF Group)
