Enjoying Life Small

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and on His law he meditates day and night…” (Psalm 1:1-2)

I run my hand through the burgeoning thickness of her hair, finger my way around her cheek, her ears, her lips… pulling the blanket over our tightly huddled bodies, her sucking away and i, kissing deeply…kissing into this depth of the call of motherhood.

I memorise the thousands of times I have my finger dancing on the nape of her neck, count all these little blessings that have made this a truly good life…

In this moment I breathe slow… I am aware…I notice all of His ways, all ears to all of His paths…attentive to the little, and soak in this grace which showers all over me.

Life with kids need to be savoured – slow. I can let my soul be held hostage by my schedule or I can simply allow Him to mess the schedule and make space for the truly beautiful .

I want to embrace my life today, and find the contentment in the now. I want to build deep connection with these gifts in my hand and learn to breathe deeply and live – because this is what my life is made up of today.
