How Resurrection Morning Resurrects You [Plus More Easter Ideas for Your Holy Saturday & Resurrection Sunday]

It was ‘very early on the first day of the week, at dawn, the women came to the tomb…” (Luke 24:1)

The story must have been told countless times; yet it never loses its power.

Of how it was all silent on Saturday: nothing happening and hope downright plateauing.

But something’s definitely happening: the night’s ending and morning is breaking!

Our Sunday School kids must have heard it umpteen times. Yet they stayed wide-eyed, perked up and amazed.

Of this story inked into the pages of our history — about a Man who dripped blood and hung naked on a wooden beam of an old rugged cross became the Man who leaves a world forever loved, His believers forever claimed.

There is a risen Man whom upon the rising sun raises our assurance of a forever salvation.

There were women who wept the night before and found the stone rolled away on an empty tomb the next morning.

They who were swallowed by the sorrow of death were faced with the question of life the following morning, a question that pointed at us and asked us point blank —  Why do you look for the living among the dead?”

Why do we stay at the tomb when it’s already empty?

Jesus who died for us …is no longer here, He has risen from the dead!”

The night’s over, and morning’s breaking!

The women, overtaken by joy, ran and told the others what they’d seen.

And us, we too can assuredly and confidently say it along with His empty tomb: Jesus is risen, Jesus is risen, I can rise, I can rise!

It’s a brand new life.
