“Love the Lord, all his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful, but the proud He pays back in full” Psalm 31:24
My eyes fell upon these beautiful words this morning as i frantically try to find the peace my soul craves in the midst of a wonderful holiday filled with families and total leisure.
To be truthful, I feel a little lost. In a beautiful hotel, surrounded by great shopping and leisure facilities, with quality goods and delicious food amply supplied, where do I stand before God and in the light of my calling to impact a generation where the majority of the people are in suffering and poverty?
My heart seems to be caught by the depth of this stringed psalm – “love the Lord, all His saints”- before I try to think of any too lofty thing I can do today- I am called to love on the Lord. I am called to lavish my loving thoughts and words and deeds on Him…I am to be mesmerized by the special favour He bestows on me as I love on Him. I am to recall the greatness of his goodness…the preferential treatment that He especially gives to those who fear Him and take refuge in Him…oh how he wants us to hide in the shelter of His presence!
There are days that I feel I may fail at everything under the sun, in math and science, in language or business, in life practical skills and in common knowledge, but there is one thing that I know I will always do…I will always love my children and my husband no matter what other failures I may have…do when my own ability to seek God seems to fail me, let me be reminded to simply love on Him.
Psalm 32:8:
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should Ho; I will counsel you and watch over you”
