The Master’s Way is the Way of Love
I have been meditating on the famous chapter on Love in 1 Corinthians 13 several different times these last few days…
The more I read, the more I understand, and am humbled by, the knowledge that the way to anything great, anything permanent, anything lasting, anything of legacy is the way of love.
This love projects to God and flows to others. It is like a river whose flow finds its source from the reservoir of God’s own love. With His heart so large, and a power so strong, this love breaks down the hardest of walls and reaches the furtherest of hearts.
I pondered –
“Do I want to make a name for myself? Then build my life upon love.
Do I want to leave a legacy in this world?
Then treat others with God’s generous love.
Do I want to create permanence upon the things my hand touches?
Then breathe love into the things I create.
Speak with and in love.
Walk…, albeit slower, and the road harder, the path of love.
Think, of others, of my blessings, of God and His greatness, of the storms that may rage in life, through the lens of love.
But never, for a single day, cease to infuse this life with love.
In the temporal I have,
Of the people I meet,
And the family I bore,
I am to surround myself with love,
And to walk each day,
the higher path of love.
“But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 MSG)
And this is the picture of the woman I portray myself to be.
Basically, a woman who loves.
Simply, a woman whose life exudes love.
Easily, a woman whose speech overflows with love.
Lord, make my life, a life of love.
