That if our well-being solely depends on the favour of our human connections, that if our getting ahead in life comes from getting in front of people, then, we’re doomed, and we’ve lost, and we’ll keep losing, because sometimes relationships severed are relationships saved.
That we can sometime lose our earthly fathers to find our heavenly Father, we can sometimes skip earthly favours to be kissed by divine goodness.
And right now and here — you have dignity, identity, eternity.
The question isn’t who is exempt from this grief; not when you realize that things aren’t the way they are supposed to be and that “normal” won’t resume at the time you wish it returns, the question is “how are we going to get through this?”
What do we do with the time in our hands and the children in our home?
This is the revolution I’m desperate to see.
The quiet ripple of revival, all starting with us.
What’s messing you up right now — isn’t what matters.
What matters is that nothing can mess you out of the mark of His love.
He bends time and space and slows motions and teaches us —
Time is relative.
Time is filled with paradoxes; marked with possibilities.
Time lapses in ways mortals just don’t get it,
and multiplies in seeming moments of transience.
We don’t understand time the way He does.
…if we could see Him in everything we do we won’t ever be ousted with our disappointment, our misplaced expectations…
…when you just need a breather
You can start — bid all that toxicity farewell, restart — and build true faith to thrive.
Life will continue and your losses will not dominate, you will adjust and you’ll be stronger, you’ll bounce back in life, and you’ll know that there is life beyond death and resurrection happens.
Could it be that sometimes, our being stuck is something we’ve grown to love, and hold on to?
Our God is a God of promise, and our story is one of the promise fulfilled.
A year can feel too fast, and yourself going too slow, but there’s extraordinary beauty in waking up to just be and slowing down to just see: and to be fully attentive and deeply given to the life you have been graced with and the people you have been gifted for.
on roads winding to highways, and platforms promising prominence, and every Facebook ad popping up on how to make it big on the Internet — sometimes?—you just wish you’d have what it takes to make that one big break, that you’d go viral someday, be noticed by many and loved by all somehow.
We secretly want what social media promises — other’s admiration.
