Psalm 111, 113 – a love letter to God
“Praise The Lord – I will extol The Lord with all my heart” – Nothing sets my feet adancing more than mouthing these words above, Lord, no matter what mayhem might have happened in the morn, or disappointment slept with in the night – I will praise, extol and adore You with my heart this moment.
What will I say in praise of You?
These, my mouth will confess:
a. Great are Your works, I ponder, I delight in them
b. Glorious and majestic are Your deeds, and Your righteousness endures forever – make me remember your wonders O God, for You are ever gracious and compassionate
c. Provider of food are You Lord, You meet even my most basic needs
These words shall forever be inscribed upon the walls of my heart:
“You have shown me the power of Your works …and the works of Your hands are faithful and just …all Your precepts are trustworthy, steadfast forever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness…as I follow You, You give me understanding…to You belong my eternal praise”
Lord, let me soar on the wings of Your greatness this day.
Let me rest under the pinnacles of the awesomeness of who You are.
I take my rest in You today. I place my identity in the wonders of Your work in my life.
Today I will magnify Your name. I will not shrink back- I will not be quiet. I will praise Your name from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets- You are exalted over all the nations – Your glory above the heavens – let my whole world hears that coming from my lips.
I once was barren, heart, soul, mind and spirit – but You are One who raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from ash heaps – so I revel in how You have sat me with princes – and given me lands that belong to other nations – You have settled me in my home as a happy mother of children (isn’t these words amazing – taken from Ps 113)
